Cynthia Strother is a dynamic nonprofit leader with over a decade of experience spanning workforce development, youth development, and college access program management. She most recently served as Senior Director for Workforce and Education Strategy, leading a department of 145 staff, overseeing four direct reports, and driving impact across community-centered programs.
A certified Google Project Management professional, Cynthia has a natural ability to build systems that work. In partnership with HR, she designed and implemented a talent pipeline and onboarding infrastructure that strengthened organizational capacity from within and positioned teams for long-term success.
Cynthia leads with a deeply people-first philosophy, influenced by Brené Brown, Simon Sinek, and Adam Grant. She believes lasting organizational change happens when people feel heard, valued, and connected to a shared mission — a conviction she brings to every system she builds and every team she leads.
Outside of work, Cynthia is a devoted wife and mother who enjoys reading, staying curious through podcasts, and listening to Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! on NPR. She is excited to join the CLC community and looks forward to partnering with staff, families, and stakeholders to strengthen operations and advance the mission for children and families across Fairfield County.
