Our Little Ducklings program meets children’s developmental needs and provides a safe, caring environment for children six weeks to three years old. The program then transitions to preschool from three to five years old, until kindergarten. This is a private pay program.
Who is eligible?
Little Ducklings is a private pay program open to all families.
What does the program provide?
- Head teachers and teachers hold college degrees, generally in early childhood education or a related subject, or hold a Child Development Associate
- Classroom staff ratio of 1 staff to 4 children
- Other support staff includes nutrition, health and family services
- Daily infant routines that follow each child’s schedule and reflects their individual needs
What curriculum does Little Ducklings use?
Our Infant/Toddler Program uses the Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers and Two’s and the Connecticut Early Learning Development Standards (CT ELDS). It is a curriculum steeped in early childhood research and emphasizes the importance of responsive, trusting relationships and experiences during the first three years of life.
CLC infant and toddler teacher/caregivers provide secure attachments allowing infants and toddlers to feel free to explore as the teachers pay close attention to the young child’s learning and development. The nurturing staff builds caring relationships and facilitates collaborative engagement with families.
