We’re making a difference in our communities more than ever before thanks to awesome partnerships with organizations in Fairfield County and beyond.

Yale University

We are proud of our partnership with the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and the positive effect it has on our children every day. Yale researchers, along with CLC teachers, administrators, children and families have created the first early childhood version of the RULER program, an innovative approach to social and emotional development. We are honored to have received the 2016 Marvin Maurer Award for our work in developing this program with our Yale partners! The award is given to organizations that exhibit outstanding commitment to promoting emotional intelligence.

Vita Health & Wellness District

Anchored by Charter Oak Communities and Stamford Hospital, Vita is a collaboration of businesses, community partners and nonprofits to improve quality of life on Stamford’s West Side. The Parents as Co-Educators project strives to improve the lives of children from non-English speaking and low-income families by providing wrap-around support for families. By strengthening families, parents can become more engaged and ready to offer their kids the academic support they need. Principal partners of the program are Family Centers, Neighbor’s Link and CLC.

Inspirica and Saint Joseph Parenting Center

We’re fighting to end the cycle of homelessness through the Early Childhood and Parenting Program. It’s an innovative approach that provides 15 homeless families living at the Inspirica shelter daily training to nurture language, pre-literacy, social and emotional skills in children - along with foundational skills like cooking. Congressman Jim Himes and Mayor David Martin spoke at the program’s ribbon cutting. Led by Inspirica, it recently received a $100,000 grant from Impact Fairfield County.

Edgehill Senior Living Community

Volunteers from Edgehill - CLC Palmer’s Hill neighbors! - visit regularly for reading, games, gardening and other fun, educational engagements with our children. The partnership and friendship is a great way to unite our community across generations and offers our children, teachers and seniors special times to look forward to throughout the year.
